A snowball fight might sound funny to attempt now that summer has arrived as far as summer fun activities go, but it is easier than you might think. It doesn’t need to be cold. Actually, a nice warm day is ideal for this snow. This is an excellent outdoor activity and it does get messy, so swimsuits make for an easy(well, easier) clean up.
Things you will need:
- 2 cans shaving cream (Barbisol original works great)
- 3 boxes baking soda
- 1 large plastic bowl
First, empty the contents of both cans of shaving cream into the large plastic bowl. Next, dump in 2 boxes of baking soda. Get everyone’s hands in there and mix it up really well. Add the third box of baking soda as needed. You will notice the consistency go from really creamy to fluffy and a bit flaky. That’s it! Just start to throw it at each other and enjoy your summertime snow ball fight.
Other Activities:
- Have buckets of water and squirt guns ready for when snowball fight is over. The water fight will help rinse the kids and the driveway off.
- If you still have a lot of “snow” left in your bowl, you can add plain white vinegar and watch it foam. We call this playing volcano. Vinegar can kill grass and plants, so keep the volcano a safe distance away from your landscaping.
- take your leftover “snow” and divide it into 3 or 4 plastic bowls. Add a drop of food coloring and Elmer’s glue to each bowl. It will make a smooth paint and when it dries, it is puffy and soft.
