Just two more sleeps until the big game and you’ve got your Super Bowl Snack basics down: the seven layer dip, hotdogs and bottomless bowls of chips. You made cupcakes last year, so what’s easy and can get the kids involved too? Three words: Rice Krispie Footballs.

This recipe is great for picky-eaters, it has a few key ingredients and you can mix it all in one pot. Bonus: here’s how to clean the marshmallow out of clothing after your kids have wiped their sticky little hands on their pants: Removing Marshmallow from Clothing.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups of Marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons of Butter
  • 1 16 oz. can of Chocolate frosting
  • White decorative icing

Super Bowl Snacks

Step 4: Take a handful of the Rice Krispies mixture and form each ball into a football shape.

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter and marshmallows together over low heat
  2. Stir the mixture until completely melted. Remove from heat
  3. Add the Rice Krispies and stir until the cereal and marshmallow mixture is well blended
  4. Take a handful of the Rice Krispies mixture and form it into a football shape!  Repeat with the entire mixture. (Wet your hands with a little bit of water to avoid sticking.)
  5. Frost the tops of each football crispy treat with the chocolate frosting
  6. Using the white decorative icing, draw out the football stitching to complete the snack
